  • Heavy Equipment Operator Safety

    Course Length:  4 hours

    29 CFR 1910 & 1926

    Overview:  A standardized training format based on competency-based training & performance testing on the type of equipment to be operated

    Course Required by:  OSHA

    Course Objectives:  Upon completion of this course, he student should be able to:

    1. Define terms associated with equipment safety and operations.

    2. Identify proper safety practices with regard to bulldozers, backhoes, front-end loaders and scrapers.

    3. Perform the required safety and operational checks for bulldozers, backhoes, front-end loaders and scrapers.

    4. Identify the main risk and safety factors involved in trenching.

    5. Identify the different types of shoring and know when each should be used
    Written Exam:  SMS requires a minimum score of 70%.  Incorrectly answered questions will be reviewed with student to ensure understanding before completion of course.
