  • CPR Healthcare Provider Course

    Course Length:  4 hours

    Overview:  The American Heart Association's BLS Healthcare Provider Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. The course is intended for certified or noncertified, licensed or non-licensed healthcare professionals.

    Pre-requisite(s): None

    Course Objectives:  Upon completion of this training the student will be familiar with:

    • Recall the basic steps of CPR for adults, children, and infants
    • Demonstrate the basic steps of CPR for adults, children, and infants
    • Perform rescue breathing
    • Administer breaths using a bag-valve mask device and pocket face mask
    • Perform CPR as a lone rescuer or as part of a two rescuer team
    • Demonstrate the appropriate procedure and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)
    Written Exam:  AHA requires a minimum written score of 85% to receive a course completion card. 

    Retraining:  AHA "re-certification" requires renewal once every two years.
