Overview: The Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER) Refresher course meets the requirements for annual refresher training for workers at hazardous waste sites. This course is designed for general site workers who remove, are exposed, or are potentially-exposed to hazardous waste, hazardous substances, or health hazards.

Course Length: 8hrs | CFR Reference: OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120

Course Objectives: Upon completion of Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER) Refresher training, the student will be familiar with:

• HAZWOPER regulations
• Safety and health plans
• Hazardous chemicals
• Safety hazards
• Air monitoring
• Medical Surveillance
• Site control
• Decontamination
• Personal protective equipment
• Respiratory equipment

Prerequisites: 40hr or 24hr HAZWOPER training

Written Exam: SMS requires a minimum score of 70%. Incorrectly answered questions will be reviewed with student to ensure understanding before completion of course.

Retraining: Students will be required to annually refresh training with sufficient content and duration to maintain their competencies.
